Richard's 'Bent ends up in a tree
Yesterday I was testing out a new 20 tooth granny
gear up a very steep
trail near our place. I don't know if it's the 26" front wheel, the
bouncier SID fork or just the steep grade, but I got off track a bit
and the front wheel lifted off.
20 tooth chainring + 25% grade+ a front wheel that
wanders off out of the rutted track up onto the side = "boing"
The bike started to slide up and back, and I got my legs
on the ground but as I hit the brake the whole thing wheelied up.
I was able to abandon ship over the back and rolled off, but the bike
ended up in a rather unusual position.
Sorry about the photo quality, but I only had my beat-up cell phone
camera.
