Information for Patients: Early Childhood Dentistry

Congratulations on your new family member!

Dental health starts early in life.  We like to see new parents within the first year to discuss health care for infants. It is nice to introduce little kids early, so they can have a fun visit, become acquainted with the office, maybe take a ride in the chair, etc, often before age 2. We rarely do much treatment at this age, but by a second visit we’ll do what they are willing to try.

The worst possible introduction to a dental office is with a painful emergency later on. This can lead to a lifetime of dental fear. Early preventive visits are the pathway to a lifetime of easy, comfortable dental care.
